Netflix series that is based on true events is still one of the best: 'Must be seen'
Anyone who has not yet seen the violent series When They See Us (2019) on Netflix should give the miniseries a chance soon. After all, the gripping true story is one of the best miniseries on Netflix: "it's a hard, infuriating emotional watch but must be seen" can be read on Twitter.
In When They See Us the story is told of "The Central Park Five", a group of five African-American teenagers wrongly accused of rape and murder in Central Park. The story of the boys who were detained for years was also told in the documentary The Central Park Five (2012). Following the Netflix series When They See Us, Oprah Winfrey spoke with the five men in Oprah Winfrey Presents When They See Us Now (2019).
We have had this on our watch list and finally steeled our hearts to watch the series.
